Documents required for Online Registration - CGCAT(2025) Batch

The candidates will be required to upload documents in two phases. Few documents are required at the online application stage and few are required to be uploaded if shortlisted for Stage-II. The candidates are to scan the original documents (neither photocopy nor self-attested photocopy is to be scanned) as applicable for the post applied and upload in the online application.

  1. Compulsory documents to be uploaded by all candidates during online application for Stage-I
    1. Passport size recent colour photograph (should not be older than three months prior to the date of opening of application) (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photographs is to be taken without spectacles with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
    2. Live Image Capture during Registration – The candidate has also to upload the latest photograph during registration. Additionally, live image of the candidate will be captured during the registration. The facial features of the candidate in the uploaded photo will be matched against the Real-time photo. The candidate will be able to submit the application, only in case of photo match.
    3. Candidate’s scanned signature image.
    4. Scanned Clear Left and Right-Hand Thumb Impression Image.
    5. Date of Birth Certificate Candidate to upload 10th class mark sheet with date of birth mentioned on it. If date of birth is not mentioned in 10thmarksheet, then birth certificate is to be uploaded.
    6. Identity proof (Adhaar Card or Voter ID or Passport or PAN Card or Driving License).
    7. Service Certificate, if candidate is serving ICG Personnel including civilian
    8. Domicile Certificate (if applicable)-Resident Certificate is not ‘Domicile Certificate’. Candidates uploading ‘Resident Certificate’ in place of ‘Domicile Certificate’ will be ineligible. To be uploaded only by candidates availing height relaxation in accordance with Central Govt. regulations.
      Note: (i) Relaxation in Height. Minimum height permitted to a candidate for enrolment in the Indian Coast Guard is 157 cms. Tribal Candidates who pass written exam and PFT are to granted relaxation in height as follows:-

      (ii) The candidate has to submit Domicile of respective state/union territory to claim relaxation in height. Failure to submit Domicile will result in no relaxation in height to candidate.

    Note:

    1. All documents to be uploaded while filling the online application has to be in .jpeg, and .jpg format only.
    2. The size of Photograph, Thumb, signature image has to be between 10kb to 100kb Click here for Specimen Of Photographs

    4. In case of SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy)/ EWS applicants, availing their respective quota then either current or permanent address of online application should be same as the address mentioned in caste/category certificate {SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy)& EWS}.
    5. Income certificate for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) shall be as per Government of India format and no other format will be accepted. Sample of GoI format is available on ICG website.
    6. The OBC (Non creamy layer) certificate of candidates should be as per the format for appointment for post under the Govt. of India and should bear QR/bar code for subsequent online verification. The format of the OBC (Non Creamy) certificate is available on ICG website. (No other format will be entertained). Any other format will lead to cancelation of candidature.
    7. The date of issue of all uploaded documents (SC/ ST/OBC (NonCreamy)/EWS/ Marksheets/ Education Certificates) has to be on or before the closing date of online application of Stage-I and the validity of all the documents has to be at least up to the closing date of online application of Stage-I.
    8. All Documents uploaded must be in Hindi or English. Candidate to upload both original and English translation of document if the document is in any language other than English or Hindi.
